THE PARTY Wildlife enthusiasts gathered at the Racquet Club of Chicago for an evening with Arkive, a multimedia guide to the world’s threatened animals and plants, which aims to promote the conservation of the natural world. THE PLAYERS Special guest speakers John Hanke, founder of Google Earth, and Kevin Schafer, a conservation photographer, also presented a film of extraordinary wildlife images, inspiring the 100 guests—among them John McCarter, president of The Field Museum; Chris Galvin; Mayari Pritzker; and Terry Graunke. THE BOTTOM LINE To date, $116,000 has been raised in Chicago to benefit the cause. Photos by Robert Kusel
