THE PARTY For this gala benefiting La Pietra’s financial aid program, the historic Monarch Room went all-American, with guests decked in red, white and blue, and dancing to the boogie-woogie sounds of Paradise & Co. THE PLAYERS Former Honolulu mayor and congressional candidate Mufi Hannemann, Hawaii News Now’s Guy Hagi, Aloha United Way President Kim Gennaula, and event co-chairs Debbie Weil-Manuma and Royal Hawaiian Hotel General Manager Kelly Hoen, both proud La Pietra alums THE HIGHLIGHTS Along with dinner, cocktails and entertainment, the silent and live auctions garnered attention with exclusive vacation packages, jewelry and art, all up for bid. The buzziest auction items were a Big Island golf getaway, replete with a stay at the Four Seasons Hualālai, and a chance to party like royalty at Villa Alliata, the chic Tantalus home of Italian Prince and Princess Alliata.
