Bacchus himself would’ve indulged. A spirited crowd gathered to pay homage to the grape at Pacific Symphony’s wine fest. Upon arriving at the swank Island Hotel, revelers passed a line of Aston Martin convertibles and coupés that set the stage for the upscale event. And the nectar flowed—attendees sipped hundreds of wines from around the globe and roamed through rooms filled with French Bordeaux, Australian Shiraz, Argentine malbecs and a bevy of California vinos. After hours of tasting and vying for silent auction items, guests wined and dined on a lavish feast from the Island’s Executive Chef David Man while Pacific Symphony Youth Orchestra prodigy Philip Sheegog performed a cello solo. Anoosheh Oskouian, meanwhile, ignited the live auction with a $900 bid for an empty bottle of wine. Oh, and the final pour: The festival gleaned $160,000 for the orchestra.
